Broncos Blow It In Brutal Cold Dec 21, 2008
Broncos vs. Bills at Mile High Stadium - Dec 21, 2008
Back in the day of enduring cold weather Thursday night CSU football games, we learned that the little packs of handwarmers that heat up automatically when they're exposed to the air are a must-have. We stocked up on the warmers and headed out to Mile High.
It was a clear sunny day, which helped, but when the sun set right at the start of the 4th quarter, nothing seemed to be helping in the effort to stay warm. I had two of the handwarmers in my shoes and one set in my gloves and was still borderline on walking out to head to Brooklyns.
On top of all that, the Broncos blew it again and set up a must win last game at San Diego next week. I keep thinking that our defense is horrendous, but then again the offense isn't doing much. We have flashes of brilliance on both sides of the ball, but neither the offensive or defensive unit can really perform consistently. Hopefully a nice warm December game in San Diego next week will be what the Broncos need.

Dinner at Billys Inn Dec 20, 2008
Billy's Inn, Denver
Billy's kind of looks and feels like a Mexican restaurant, but its more of an American Grill menu. They feature Tacos and quesadillas, but you won't find burritos, rellenos, and other expected Mexican fare. The menu is limited and the other half consists mostly of sandwiches and burgers.
While offering a small menu, what they do offer is done very well. The chips and salsa are excellent - real authentic fried chips with great homemade salsa. The tacos were ala carte, so I got one shrimp, one chicken, and one beef taco for dinner and they were also very good. My buddy got a sandwich with shoestring fries and the whole meal was great.
Billy's is having a 75th anniversary party in a few weeks that sounds like it will be a good time.

Colorado State University is one of the two largest universities in the state and has become a popular college choice for Colorado natives and out-of-state students alike.
Home of the mighty Rams, Football season is always a great time of year in Fort Collins. As CSU alums, we invite you to check out the university and head out to one of the most picturesque college football stadiums in Hughes Stadium to support the Rams!
The Pickel Barrel is a locally owned East Coast style sandwhich shop that is one of Fort Collins' hidden gems. On Laurel, between College Avenue and Shields, the Pickel Barrel is a favorite of CSU students and alumni alike.
Rental houses in Fort Collins has become much more expensive in the last 10 years but it is still affordable relative to nearby Boulder and Denver. Fort Collins is about 60 miles north of Denver on I-25 and it takes about an hour and ten minutes to drive, depending on traffic/time of day.

Renting in Boulder Aug 16, 2008
While it may not be for everyone, Boulder residents have great pride in their city and the Boulder Valley is arguably the best location in Colorado for its natural beauty. Being such a highly desirable area, Boulder real estate prices tend to be on the expensive side. While housing rentals are slightly higher in Boulder, the purchase price of Boulder housing is significantly higher than other locations in the area. The average single family home price in 2006 is approximately $550,000, while the average selling price for condos and townhomes is $250,000.
For University of Colorado transfer students, you are not required to live on campus but may apply to live in a university dorm on a space available basis. Boulder is also home to Naropa University, the only accredited university inspired by the Budhist tradition. If you are a student looking for a boulder house for rent, the Hill is a very popular area and renting a large house with other students can be an affordable option.
