Winter Park Resort
Winter Park is a Colorado Ski Resort located on Highway 40, about 25 miles north of I-70. Winter Park is famous for the Ski Train, which originates at Union Station in Denver and pulls up just yards from the ski lifts at Winter Park, after passing through the Moffat Tunnel.Compared with resorts like Vail which opened in 1962, Winter Park is where Colorado's recreational skiing industry began. Winter Park is still owned by the City and County of Denver but the operations and development of the resort was leased to Intrawest in 2001.
