The University of Denver is a private university located in the city of Denver, Colorado. The campus is situated 6 miles south of Downtown Denver.Ritchie Center
The Ritchie Center was built in 2000 and includes Magness Arena. The Ritchie Center is home to DU Athletics and the student Rec. Center.
Mary Reed
The Mary Reed building on the University of Denver campus was once DU's main library. It now houses the office of the chancellor and other administrative departments.
Daniels College of Business
The Daniels College of Business has enjoyed great success and national recognition in recent years. The Wall Street Journal has ranked the Daniels MBA Program in the top 5 nationally for the high ethical standards of graduates. The WSJ has also recognized Daniels in their rankings for information technology, accounting, and other key disciplines.In 2008, Daniels College of Business celebrated its 100th anniversary. Daniels is the eighth oldest business school in the country with the company of Harvard, NYU, Dartmouth, Chicago, and Berkeley. Daniels opened in a Downtown Denver building adjacent to Civic Center Park with a grand total of 12 students. On April 24th, 2008, one hundred years after the school was founded, a year-long celebration kicked off highlighting the success of Daniels as one of the leading business schools in the country.
School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management
In May of 2006, the University of Denver's School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management opened as part of the Daniels College of Business. The new building features a 2,800 square foot full kitchen and classrooms with distance-learning equipment. The facility also includes three model hotel rooms, a front-desk operations center, a Tuscan wine cellar, and more. DU founded the Hotel School in 1946.
Sturm College of Law
The College of Law at the University of Denver was founded in 1892 and became a cornerstone in the development of the the legal system in America's Mountain West. The student body of the Sturm Law School is approximately 1200 students with a median age of 25.
Evans Chapel
DU founder John Evans built the Evans Memorial Chapel in 1873 in memory of his daughter Josephine Evans, who died of consumption in 1868 at age 24. Originally located at 13th and Bannock streets in downtown Denver, the chapel was moved to campus in 1960 when it was threatened with demolition. It was designated a national historic site in 1988.Notable Alumni
