they said it would be 4 days before they could come out. I thought this was a
bit long but scheduled the work to be done. They did not show up for the first
appointment and I had a difficult time getting a hold of the woman who
scheduled the appointments as she doesn't work regular business hours.
When I did reach her, she said something had happened to their computer
systems but that she would waive the trip charge and have someone come out the
next day. I explained that I had an appointment and they would have be here
before I had to leave, which she didn't indicate was a problem. No one from
Lord & Reynolds showed up for a second time and I got a phone call an hour
after I had to leave for my appointment saying they were heading my way. I
explained how it was an hour after I had to leave and that it was the second
time I had tried to schedule the work with them. They told me that people
without power are their priority and that they didn't have anything written
down about me having to leave for my appointment. I indicated that I thought
it was a problem that the woman who was scheduling the appointments didn't
communicate these things and they told me that I need to call someone else
(I'll say!).
I would highly recommend staying away from Lord & Reynolds Electric Services
in Denver. I am on a tight schedule with dependent projects and they just
wasted a week of my time. I'll let you all know if I have a good review with
an electrician, but so far - no luck.

I have been on a quest to find good local and reliable contractors for basic
work on my Brooks Tower unit and wanted to share my experience with Tony Capra
Plumbing and Heating this week.
I found Tony Capra on Google Local, saw they were located nearby, and
visited their website. I called the dispatcher on Monday morning to schedule
repair of the water line to my refrigerator and to clean the sink drains in my
unit. The dispatcher said that they would be here between 10am and 12pm on
Tuesday.
A gentlemen named Ali arrived at 12:15pm on Tuesday (which was close enough
to their timeframe for me) and he was extremely efficient, friendly, and
knowledgeable. Ali not only completed the work I had schedule quickly but he
also shared a lot of information about how plumbing in highrises works and
things to be aware of.
Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Tony Capra
in case you are in need of a good plumber.

Brooks Tower? I used Acme Electric last year and what I considered a job of
moderate complexity (installing a light fixture in the bedroom and repairing
the bathroom fan) took 5 months (yes, five months) and was way more than I
expected it to be. I'm sure you can imagine my displeasure from this
experience and Acme will not be back in my unit for any reason. So, any advice
on a diligent, competent, and forthright electrician who is willing to do work
at Brooks would be greatly appreciated!
