Brooks Tower Fire Alarms

Brooks Tower has a central alarm system that is activated by smoke detectors in the hallways and emergency exit doors that are alarmed.

Residents of two bedroom units should be aware that the fire alarms in the hallways are not loud enough to carry well to the bedrooms. If you are concerned about hearing the fire alarm from your unit, you should speak with the management office.

In 2005, false fire alarms at Brooks were a consistent problem. The frequency of false alarms subsided after a long summer and false alarms are fairly infrequent in recent years.

It seems there have been quite an increase in the number of fire alarms at
Brooks Tower in the last couple of months. Does anyone know if there have
really been fires or emergencies, or have these all been false alarms?

Does anyone know whether individuals causing false alarms are getting fined?
It would be great to add cameras at each exit to capture video of these false
alarms and offenders.
